Hi. I have no health insurance and am looking to buy. I'm 21, and I am no longer covered under my mom's plan...I have NO IDEA how to go about this because I've never been on my own until now. I don't know how all of that works...what's 'good' health insurance, how much, & how long I need to keep before i can cancel, etc.
Basically, completely health-insurance-illiterate, and I have no one to turn to, because my mom and I had a falling out.
Also, I cannot get some through my job since I only work part-time, and I'm a full time student.
I'm clueless about health insurance and need to get some soon...but it is so confusing!

Ok take a deep breath first. lol. ok here we go. look for a health insurance plan from a well known company aetna, blue cross, united healthcare etc. In the plan you will want a low deductible between 500 and 1500. You should also have some dr visits at a low cost around $25 but it doesn't have to be unlimited because you are young and it will cost you more to have unlimited vists.
