Default Have you ever had a problem canceling a health insurance plan?

I work a full-time and a part-time job and have carried medical insurance through both employers. I no longer want to carry the insurance from the part-time employer. When I sent letter(s) to the main office, I was denied - twice. Can you believe they denied me for insurance that I PAY FOR? They told me I could only make changes during open enrollment. I feel violated. I have since contacted the insurance commission in my state (Massachusetts) and am waiting for an answer from them. Short of quitting the job (which I don't want to do), can anyone out there offer me any assistance as to what I should do?

I hate to tell you this but yes that is true and it is where i work.

you can only cancel the insurance at open enrollment, and lawfully it can be only once a year.

their has been a number of people at my work who have had this problem and have lost a lot of money from it. like 300 bucks taken out for a couple per month and had to pay for an extra six months than needed.
