Hi, I am 14 and am getting treatment for my eating disorder. I am going to inpatient treatment at the Renfrew Center in Florida but I live in Canada(we don't have any where I live). I was wondering if anyone has ever received treatment outside of their country and had it covered ? If you know anything .. please let me know

Canadian health care does not cover you outside the province where you reside. You can purchase additional insurance that will cover you outside your province and outside the country, but it's very expensive. That's why so many Canadians who used to spend the winters in Florida sold their winter homes and don't go down there anymore. So your parents need to be prepared to pay for additional insurance, or they'll have to pay all inpatient treatment at the Renfrew Center out of their own pockets.

The best way to find out is to get your parents to call their insurance provider and ask.
