Default Why not give me a tax credit for paying for my own health insurance?

Whats the reasons that wouldn't work? If you are poor you may qualify for state or federal assisted insurance. If not, and you and your employer pay for it, why not make it fair and give me a tax credit for not only providing for myself but also paying the taxes that pay's the unemployed peoples insurance?

That is certainly part of several of the universal health coverage proposals out there. Since the majority of people get the majority of their health insurance premiums paid for by their employer, how do we structure the credits between employers/employee's. What do we do about the employers who make no contributions?

That is a possible solution, and it's infinitely better than socialized "Hillary-care".

i agree... if you have to pay for your own health insurance than you should be able to get a tax benefit or some kind of write off..not all that are poor can get any kind of benefit.. even the poor working 2 and 3 jobs to make ends meet may not meet the states criteria... or they may say sorry you made to much last year we can not help you..

because the ones who get coverage through work would pay more tax in the long run, we have to pay for insurance through the company then have to pay more in tax that wouldn't be fair
to us

That would work for me. It would also be nice if home schooling parents got a tax credit for not using government schools.

That is a proposed solution. However what about the people who work, but don't have health insurance, such as small business owners.
