Default State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP): Support or Oppose?

What do you think of the new State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), a bill designed to provide children of middle-income families with health insurance?

a. Support

b. Oppose

c. No opinion

d. Haven't heard of it

Also, if you can, can you add in your gender, age group, and political label?

It's for a class group project where we study whether or not people are up to date on politics in general - I got so many great answers from here before, but my group changed the question slightly and so I need to re-poll in order to reflect that.

Thank you everyone!

I don't think anyone opposes the program.

What they oppose, was the expansion of the program to people it origionally wasn't meant to help.

Plus the funding mechnisim, wasn't the best one to use.

Targeting a specific class of tax payers, to fund a program, is never a good idea.

All Commie Care is lethal to anyone with a serious condition, especially children. They do not vote, and their care will be whittled to nothing. The old vote, and suck up most of the health care budget for their worthless selfish care. They all die anyway, but none for under $250,000 in worthless care. Meanwhile, that amount would help 100 kids with serious conditions. It could save 1 million kids in poor countries.

So, no. Government should be prevented as much as possible from entering the health care of kids.

Well considering we need 22 million new smokers to pay for it. I will have to say no.

I hate the argument that people 18-25 are also covered...well those are usually the people who don't have health care and are usually still student.

Considering all the wasteful spending being done, something back to the tax payers seems like a relief.
