Not to mention, the health care bill that the Democrats tried to pass would have allowed for more of this crap.

Oh, that's easy! I'd rather pay for the rich 25 year old to have health insurance. Goodness sakes, we can't have the poor baby actually taking care of HIMSELF, now can we?!? Tsk, tsk. You people are just mean. Mean and evil.

Edit - Come on, kids!! This would have been the case if the SCHIP had gone through as planned. Don't you know even the basics, or did no one get past the headlines bleating about how mean old Bush is denying health care to children?!?

Amazing.

why would you pay for a 25 year old's health insurance if they're rich?

Umm... assuming that the rich 25 year old can pay for his own health insurance and there's no prior reason (ie, a promise) that you should have to pay it.... why would you pay for someone else's insurance?

i was poor for many years, but now i'd rather go on the cruise, pay someone to cut my grass, clean my house, etc., with the amount i pay in taxes. side bar: have you read freakonomics or the tipping point? if not, it's a must read.
