This is interesting.

I wonder how that compares to a private health plan in thr UK

I pay far more than all of these on National Insurance and don't get a service. No dentist, no GP (all the ones in my area are refusing to take on new patients) and at least 6 month wait for hospital appointments.

$163.42 per month before taxes for my daughter and I. That's for medical and dental.

The price of my supplements - enzymes, C, multi, calcium/mag and probiotics. They are our insurance. The price of my organic food; it is our insurance.

I don't believe in health insurance, and have been without for years BY CHOICE, with a family of 6. We found it costs us just as much out of pocket for any MD medical attention we do need whether we are insured or not. And, when insured, we had to pay a premium too! Made little sense. For those who will poo-poo me, we are middle income, not independently wealty. We have gone through major hospitalizations both insured and uninsured. It was cheaper uninsured.

It is my educated opinion that insurance is one of the main factors in the soaring health care costs that are crippliing the nation - literally. We also don't much believe in MDs unless a medical emergency. Insurance doesn't pay for most fo the alternative methods we use that keep us healthy.

Mine is about $40 a month in Massachusetts, but my company pays a lot of it, and that includes dental and a $5 co-pay for any visit to the doctors.
