I'm trying to decide who to vote for, and have been researching all candidates (both Republican and Democrat)... and it seems that all the candidates are in favor of mandatory health insurance, but I can't find any specific information about how it works.

Just wondering what this means in regard to how it will be set up (yearly checkup? when would I set up my checkup or would it be arranged for me? or do I just show up at any doctor's office when I get sick?), what percentage of out-of-pocket expense vs. govt-covered?, amount of tax credits (what's the window of time between any money taken out-of-pocket and when you could recoup it with tax credits?)... and what if you cannot afford even a reduced expense? Will you be fined, or penalized?

Can they tell you not to smoke, or charge you more for coverage if you drink or smoke?

It won't work. Congress has to approve such things. They never will.
