Are there resources for those who have issues with depression or anxiety who lack medical insurance?

If you go to a psychiatric hospital and you tell them you are suicidal or homicidal, they HAVE to take you whether you have insurance or not.

I think most states and communities have a fee and sliding scale health services programs. I live in Maine we have 2 mental health places in my area, one is called Sweetser and the other is Spurwink. I would look in your phone book at the beginning and look under Mental Health services, there listing should be around where you equivelant to Department of Health and Human Services is. Good Luck!
