Default Is it neccessary to debate gay marriage in America, 3000+ dead in Iraq,...

...10million kids no health insurance? Does it make sense our Congress debateing flag burning and gay marriage,

12 million illegal immirgrants in America,

10 million children without health insurance,

Did we hit 4000 US soliders dead in Iraq yet?

Homeless problem, that gone away? Maybe from the headlines of newspapers and Time magazine, but not the streets.

Can Adam and Steve have their Kodak Moment so we can get on with the real business of government?

You seem to think things can only happen one at a time.

Sybil nailed it.

While people cry and scream in the streets over queens getting hitched, no one is paying any attention to the inextricable move towards WW3 we are being dragged towards.

Ok a bit extreme perhaps. But not much.

It's not like we're capable of debating only one issue at a time.
Your reasoning is faulty in that you're assuming the issues most important to you personally should take priority over issues that concern or affect others.
Or is it that you're wanting people to just "move on" OFF of an issue that affects you personally?
Either way, lazy thinking.

The gay marriage debate is used to keep our attention off of the real issues.

Unfortunately most of the American public doesn't realize that.

It's all related. If the majority didn't believe that we are animals then our government might act in a godly manner.

Sean, your so right. During the Viet Nam war we were screaming in the streets. Now apathy. Why? Perhaps the bald white men who own the airwaves are profiting somehow.

A lot of gay couples are quietly being foster parents or adopting AIDS babies/orphans, and without permission from anyone they are changing the world.

Sometimes we need to turn off the noisy debate you described so well, and just do the good that we know how to do.

As they used to say in the 1970s, 'Bloom where you are planted . . .'
