Default Looking for health insurance at a reasonable price?

You would think that since my husband is a police officer, I'd have great health benefits. Nope. He has full coverage which only costs him $1 a pay period. The city he works for picks up the tab for the rest. However, if he were to put me on his insurance it would cost $460 a month. He already pays $540 a month for child support. So we can't exactly afford the extra $460 right now. I have checked with Humana and it was pretty reasonable. Just wondering if anyone knows any other possibilities?

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. It is about 350 a month if I am not mistaken.

THERE EXCELLENT! Its a 15 copay anywhere and some medicines that should cost me $50+ only cost me $2.80.

Plus my work use to have Humana and the benefits, copay, ect arent near as good as BCBS. Also if I remember correctly Humana was ALOT higher the Blue Cross is for insurance. I really like Blue Cross, you should look into it.

Hope this helps

I just left a corporate job to begin freelancing, so I had to purchase my own health insurance. I would highly recommend looking into a health savings account. You can save on your insurance premiums by taking a higher deductible. The money you put in the health savings account is used to pay any medical expenses. If you don't use the money, it remains yours and even earns interest (unlike the money you pay on insurance premiums.) Plus the money you put in a health savings account isn't taxed. You can do an online search for Health Savings Accounts to see if this might be an option for you.
