I'm self employed and need to find a good health insurance plan/service. I am in the Bay Area.

My experience with HMOs is not that bad of service though it is a pain to get any specialized care. Hard to get that extra bit of care/service.

PPOs fall into the same camp above though slightly better in some instances.

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations. I'd prefer specific recommendations on providers (based on experience) vs. links to other sites that compare. Thank you.
