Default Health insurance and coverage?

I've just been offer health insurance through the temp agency that i work for. It about $20 a week but will only cover up to $7,500 annually in medical expenses. Is that a good deal or should I get health care some place else? I'm 26, healthy, very active.. What should I do?

Well, it's better than NOTHING!! A "real" health policy will cost you about $200 a month, with a low deductible. If it were me, I'd be more inclined to get a major medical policy for about half that ($100 per month) with a $5,000 deductible.

You see, if you're already paying $80 a month, it makes more sense to have to cough up $5K in case of a serious accident/illness, than to cough up $45K.

In either case, you can get quotes from your local agent.

at your age your young and if you have no coverage it sounds decent depends also on co pays. Don't forget you already have some medical on your car insurance for accidents if you have full coverage, for just a policy that sounds good

Well, what is your deductible? thats how i look at it. I pay about 100 a month for my insurance and before my insurance pays anythinig i have to meet my deductible. Being healthy is good, but you cant plan for the unexpected. I think if you can afford to do it, then do it. 7,500 isnt really much when you think about an emergency room visit itself lol BUT its good to have something. At least if you have to go to the hospital and your bill is 10,00 they should have covered 7,500 of it right?
