Depending upon where you are in your life will determine whether it's a good idea. If the individual has a family and wants to make certain his/her loved ones will be able to manage if an unexpected tragedy occurs, then life insurance would be a must...

It's okay if you have a trusted beneficiary. It's good if you can have a chance to pay for your own funeral.

If other people depend on your income, it is good. If you are young and single, it is a waste.
