how long will it take to recieve the payment of life insurance?

my grandma died and left me her life insurance policy and i have sent out all the necessary paperwork and i was wondering how long it takes to recieve payment ... i kno it depends on how she died and things soo she died of terminal cancer any help??? the insurance company has already contacted me because i am the beneficiary and i have already filled out all paperwork .. she had the life insurance policy over 20 years and through her work ... now its the waiting game
