...insurance policy than us? My dad died nearly 3 weeks ago, and his former company (a huge one) shows that he had no optional life insurance. Our records differ. Nobody can or will give us answers, and my brother is already ready to sue. Where do we stand? Thanks

Send a copy of your records to your Dad's former company and ask them to provide you with written proof that discredits your proof within 14 business days. If they fail to comply, get a lawyer.

Get a copy of the records that they claim to have. The most current date is the one that is valid. If your dad changed the policy on his last renewal that would not be good for you guys. If they will not produce a copy then you will have to take it to court.
