Default Are there any life insurance specialist out there? I would like to purchase some...

...life insurance for myself...? I am a 25 year old African American female. I have no children, I do not smoke, I do not yet own a home. I have some medical issues, mostly sinus related, and have had 3 surgeries (2 this Fall). I would just like my parents to be covered if I die, so they can payoff my educational loans and my car, funeral, etc.

I would also like to keep this insurance for the long term, I here there are ways to get tax benefits from it? I do plan on having childing some time down the road.

What would be the best: Term, Whole, Universal, Inuities, or Child Protector? I will be going through AAA.

Thanks

You know, that if you die with loans outstanding, and you're not married, no one has to pay them off? Well, your estate has to pay them off. If you leave money to someone, they can do whatever they want with it - they do NOT have to pay off your loans with it.

Anyway - you really need to deal with a local agent, who can walk you through this and help you choose a product to suit your needs.

Term is straight insurance, with a set premium for a certain period of time, usually up to 20 years. It can be renewable, at a higher premium. It's the cheapest insurance to buy - by a lot. Whole life is the most expensive, but the premium stays the same, your whole life - it costs the same when you're 25 as it does when you're 85. Which is about how much a 65 year old person would pay, with term insurance. Universal life is an "investment" life insurance policy, it's much more expensive than buying straight life and investing on your own. And doesn't pay out as well. Annuities are really, really high priced, high fee income products. Again, for Joe Average, you can do much better on your own. Child Protector - I think that's just a "name brand" for life insurance.

If you're going through AAA, which is an agency, use their agent. Sit down, and talk to them about what your goals are, and what products meet those goals at the best prices.
