Default When someone dies intestate, and had life insurance for £150,000,what...

...happens?Is it added onto the estate? Scottish succession law-
When distributing the estate, who will it go to? The surviving spouse? Is life insurance classed at Heritable property or moveable property? Also, can someone leave out their spouse in a will, and leave everything to their children? Thank you

In Scots law a spouse is entitled to one third and children are entitled to one third (whatever the will may say)
Therefore you cannot leave a spouse out of a will.
Life insurance policy is normally added to the estate unless (unusually) it was specifically made out in favour of one particular individual
