I'm currently pregnant, but I've received several pieces of mail about this life insurance. I was wondering if anyone has it and what they think about it. It seems like a good plan, but then again, life insurance for a 1 year old seems kind of strange.

I got it. My parents started it for me when I was younger, and it's great affordable whole-life insurance.

When my son was born I started it for him, too.

I think it is an excellent value, and if it turns out that sometime down the road your little one develops a health condition, he will already at least have some life-insurance and won't have to worry about inflated premiums.

Gerber insurance has been around since the 70's, and is an excellent plan! Your policy premium is set by the age of your baby, and remains the same until they turn 21! So, the younger the insured, the lower the premium.

Life insurance is important no matter what the age! I have a policy in place for each of my 12 grandkids.

It isn't about having life insurance for a child... we all hope that wouldn't be necessary!... It is a grow up plan. I think it is a good idea, but shop around and see if anyone local to you has better premiums, etc.
