Default Is agreeing with EVERYTHING written in the Bible some sort of "life insurance"?

The Bible was written centuries ago. Obviously, it was mistaken in at least some areas. Many extremists cannot admit that this is so. We don't marry women off to their rapists any more, we allow ourselves to wear two blends of fabric and even eat shellfish on Friday. So why can't some people admit that an antiquated book might be wrong to some extent and yet still believe in God? Because they're afraid they'll be hellbound?

Sounds like life insurance to me.

How can a person choose to believe something. You either really do believe it or you pretend to believe it. I think that most people are just caught up in the self righteous feel good about yourself part of religion and don't care about truths.
