Default will home owners insurance cover the cost of repairs if its proven it wasn't arson ,?

and they (the insurers ) call it an act of god?
I hope people researched and got the proper coverage My heart goes out to them I'm just now recovered from the hurricanes 31/2 years ago in FL

If the insurance has an act of God clause then yes, the insurance companies can default on paying. However I have not seen such a clause in any insurance I had to buy and I will usually ask about that specifically. However if they live in an area prone to fires and did not take time out to insure that they were covered then they deserve it. I live in tornado alley and you better believe I have tornado coverage. Some things are common sense.
