...not resident in the USA? I am a UK resident but I own a home in Florida and intend to visit for 90 days at a time, Can I own and insure a car in Florida even though I only have a UK driving licence

If you have a car, you must insure it for liability. It is the law.
(To be accurate, there is an impractical way around this.)

no you have to have a florida drivers license. I may be wrong, but call an insurance company that's here in florida. any one should do. try Florida No Fault. I live in Fl and my neighbors live in England. They rent out their home to vacationers and only stay here once a year. They don't own a car here. They rent one. I'll look up the number for florida no fault for you.


Edit: Here's a Florida No Fault insurance office in florida. it includes the area code and phone number. I don't know of the number to dial first from the UK. I'm sure you do. Anyway....
