Default What are some ways to reduce one's home insurance premium?

I know the main way is to increase your deductible. What are some of the other ways?

I believe if you put an alarm you will pay less insurance.

Shop well for insurance. Really do some investigating. We were shocked how much we saved when we moved our homes to Farm Bureau. We thought it only insured farms. It is a co-op insurance. F.B. is just an example. However if staying with the company you now have, installing an alarm system will reduce the premium.
