Travel Insurance is very expensive - several hundred dollars. I think an ISIC is a Student Identitiy Card and you should definitely have one of those and get discounted fares/

travelers insurance pays for you to get put on a plane to the closest hospital with first world technology. It also pays to send your body back to your country if you die, and if one of your family members died, they would pay for you to go home.

I paid about $500 for travelers insurance for a year to Sudan. It was worth it...I'd rather be safe than sorry!
