Default Good travel insurance for wrinklies??

Any good insurance places for the over seventies? Also a place that will take a wee wifie with pacemaker, diabetes and various other heart related things!! We are finding that the insurance is costing more than the holiday and may have to just drag out the flask and tent!!

Insurance is going to be very expensive. If you're booking a package, they normally insist you have insurance. If you're making your own arrangements, think about whether you actually need it.

It covers you for death and serious injury. Do you need more cover just because you're away from home? OK There's the cost of repatriating the body, but that's a few hundred quid.

It provides cancellation cover. Think about the circumstances in which you might need to cancel.

It provides medical cover. If you're going to the US, you need this. For the EU, you get the same emergency medical treatment as the locals which is usually a lot better than you'd get at home. Get an EHIC card from the post office.

It provides cover for loss of money and loss of luggage. (So they say - but they'll do their damnedest to wriggle out of the claim!) You may well find that most of this is covered by your house insurance.
