What is travel insurance?

What will happen if I get sick or hurt in Brazil and don't have travel insurance?

i believe it could cost you a lot of money! it is better to spend a little here and be covered, than get stuck there. some places will not treat you or will even hold you untill your bill is payed. i'm not sure brazil does this, however i would not take the chance! have fun!
