A lot of travel sites offer an insurance package for a fairly reasonable rate. They say it covers the cost of lost or damage materials and you're also covered for medical expenses if you get sick or hurt. Is it worth getting travelers insurance or is it just some kind of scam to get more money out you?
Im traveling from America to Scotland. We are going to be there for two weeks.

i'm originally from japan and live in Illinois now. I don't get insurance when i go home, but when i travel other countries, i do.

my dad went to South Africa last week, and his digital camera was stolen at the ariport after checking in. Someone (i guess employees work at the security) opened the suitcase and stole it.. but he had a travelers insurance, so he'll get money back at least..

i think it's good to have one

it depends on which country if third world country then yes for sure other wise it should be OK but it is always good idea to have insurance its for your best interest hope that helps
