Default Should I buy travel insurance?

I am flying from Toronto to Edmonton for about 5 days with Air Canada. Should I buy travel insurance - medical and/or cancellation insurance? I am 20 years old, and I am wondering if it is necessary if I am staying in Canada. I have never flown before so I was wondering if anyone had any advice. Thanks

If you ever fly outside of the country, MAKE sure you have medical insurance. But not flying within Canada.

Cancellation insurance I find a bit of a joke. I fly a couple of times a year. Cancellation insurance the last time I checked it was about 10% of the ticket cost. So, if I paid, after about 10 trips I have saved enough that it would cost less than cancellation insurance. I think I have saved about 5 or 10 round tickets. Plus, the terms to rebook aren't usually that bad. IF you have to cancel, you usually can upgrade the ticket and use it at a later time. I have never used the medical insurance either. (Even once when I should have used it.) But it is good to have and the costs of getting sick in a foreign country could be endless.
