Re: Uninsured Motorist/deductable ???
The only way that you are entitled to get the deductable refunded to you is if your insurance company was paid by the uninsured motorist. If the uninsured motorist paid your insurance company a settlement, then you are legally entitled to get your deductable refunded (it usually takes 6 months to be refunded). On the other hand, if the uninsured motorist didn't pay any money to your insurance company, then you are ineligable to be refunded because your insurance company was not paid. In this case, I recommend that the uninsured motorist be taken to court for the money that he or she owes. Once that money is paid back to your insurance company, then it may be possible to be refunded. As for the amount of time of getting the refund, you would have to check with your insurance company about satutes of limitation concerning getting refunded. Usually, refunds are requested only a few weeks at most after the claim is settled. Since the amounts of time vary from company to company, you would have to consult your insurance company to find out about that. Hope this has helped..
