You don't have a choice in the matter. When you get a citation it put on your state's DOT database and all insurance companies pick it up. Unless, you get the ticket out of state in which some DOT's don't see it.

they will find it out without you. everytime u renue the policy they run your record before making up the quote for the renewal. i am like 2 tickets shy of loosing my licence and it hasn't made mine go up too much. usually if i have good record it goes down about 10 to 20 dollars every 6 months but with the tickets it has just stayed the same.
