Default If I Move Do I have To Continue To Pay My Current Auto Insurance?

If I am moving, and I just got a 6 month policy, am I required to honor the payment for that if I can't be covered in the state I'm moving to? I got a notice from the credit bureau saying that I owed money after I told the agent I was moving out of state.
