Default Are car insurance deductibles generally per incident or per year?

Is one's car insurance deductible amount generally for each incident or accident that occurs or is it per policy year? If my comprehensive deductible is $1,000, does it make no sense to go through my insurance company for a cracked windshield?

It's usually be incident. The whole point of the $1000 deductible is that you won't be taking the windshield in.
