Default Auto Insurance?

My brothers car was stolen from his drive way. Who ever stole it wrecked it. My question is will insurance still cover it even if he left the keys in it? They have comprehinsive coverage with a $500 deductable. He lives way out in the sticks and it isn't or should I say was not uncommon to leave the keys in your car and your house unlocked and such. He was getting ready to sell it. The person who wanted to buy it was in the process of getting it finaced. Any help?? Thanks in advance.
