Default if points are reduced from driving records should it do the same for insurance

records? i'm currently thinking of taking a defensive driving class so that i can take points of from my driving record ( i got into a car accident and recieved 2 points in 2005) however i have being told by my sources that although the points will be reduced from my Drving record they will not be removied from my insurance record? i'm a little confussed about this can anybody please give me information on this issue, and possibly a way to deal with this, my insuance is currently real high and i do live in the state of NJ.

Insurance companies have their own point systems in place. Removal of points on your driver licence may or may not be taken into account by your insurance company, depending on how many years clear you recorded before the accident, among other factors.
