Default If I have a check for the repairs on my truck from the insurance company, can...

..............? I trade it in before getting the repairs done? I still owe on the truck but I don't want it anymore (due to the gas milage.) When I trade it in would the dealer just take the car and the check and fix it themselves? Yet give me the full value of the truck (as if there was no damage.) The check is in mine and the leinholders name.
This is an expensive truck that I just don't want to pay that much for anymore. I will be trading for a cheaper more practical Honda or Toyota.
