Well, there's no cheap car insurance in Florida, as it's a true "no fault" state. Best thing to do is make sure your car is at least 6 years old and paid for, so you don't have to carry physical damage on it.

Do not get cheap car insurance not in Florida a girl I work with went a big Florida car insurer cash register that combined with direct and her car was stolen they won't help and she paid for full coverage. I have had state farm my family has never with them. Allstate is reputable as well

If you have a car in your own name which is registered and operated on the roads in Florida, then you have to insure it. If you have no assets, then carry on minimum coverage (PD and PIP). If you don't need a car or won't be driving it, sell it and borrow a friend's (or rent one) the few times you need one and save a bundle. Good luck
