Default What insurance must you have on a motor vehicle with 4 or more wheels??

ONE MORE QUESTION.... if your driver license is revoked for DUI or suspended for too many points what type of insurance must you either purchase or prove that you had on the date of the violation??

If the vehicle is NOT FINANCED---you can get away with simple liability insurance... If you are making CAR PAYMENTS and it's not used as a commercial vehicle, then you must have liability AND collision until such time as you have CLEAR TITLE to the vehicle when the car is totally paid off ... THEN, you can drop the collision insurance... if your license was revoked for DUI or suspended for too many points, and you didn't HAVE insurance on the vehicle at the time---enjoy your stay in jail --... Same insurance applies--however, if you HAVE no insurance, the Motor Vehicle Departmetn will find out (they get notified of insurance cancellations and such) and will fine you (in New York State anyway) $8 a DAY for every day you went without insurance... and you BEST pay up because you won't get insurance without THAT particular bill paid....

Question 1...
If you don't plan on using the vehicle for commercial use, regular insurance will cover you. If you are running it for profit, there are companies just for that purpose.

Question 2...
I am not fully understanding the question. Firstly, you need your SR-22 (Suspended/Revoked Driver License), then you need to find an insurance that will insure you, and then stay clean for a LONG while...
If you had insurance on the date of the violation, ask your insurance company to send you a copy of "Proof of Coverage" to take with you to court. If you have already been convicted, you're just about out of luck...you may want to talk to an attorney.
