Default How come a 7 year old Dodge truck costs more to insure than a new Lexus RX350?

Full insurance:

Dodge - $1400

Lexus - $900

Why??????

For a start it is much easier to break into and steal.

There is more of a demand for the parts on the dodge. So, thieves would more likely steal the dodge

is it a 4x4? That usually raises the insurance through the roof.

how big is the engine? 4.7 or so?

compare that to the lexus.

Is the truck a 8 cylinder? maybe 10?

All those things make insurance raise.

People who drive Lexus' are muc more cautious than someone who owns a 7 year old Dodge.

It doesn't mean every carrier is like that. Each company rates well on their "targeted vehicles". Many times it can be due to costs of repairs, costs of parts, 4 x 4 surcharges, and what driver is rated on that vehicle upon your policy. You may want to shop around and find out other carriers rates.
