It's mandatory in California.

Yes. Here in Calif. you cannot renew your registration without proof of it!

We have insurance on our cars and my motorcycle. We have it because it's required by law and to get repairs if we get in an accident. It pays the first $30k in hosptial bills for a car/motorcyle accident, too.

yes just because it would be my luck that i would get caught and then have a HUGE fine or lose my license..and i def cant afford that!

you have to over here..uk...its against the law not to have any insurance or road tax!!!
