Default In case of an accident where someone in a motorcycle is badly hurt will...

...liability insurance cover? Say there is an accident involving a motorcycle and a car. The person in the motorcycle is badly injured how much will liability insurance cover? The insurance would be from the person responsalbe for the accident this case the person in the car. Would there be a big difference if you have full cover isurance?
Will having full cover insurance keep you from going to jail it the person in the motorcycle dies?
Well the car was the one that crossed the street where the biker was riding so its the cars fault. The person drinving is around 18 or 19.

Who's at fault for the accident? What state are you in?

In a full tort state, if the car is at fault for the accident (and in my experience, 90% of motorcycle/car accidents are the car not seeing the bike, it's the car's fault), their liability insurance will be responsible - UP TO THE LIMIT OF COVERAGE. Some states, the minimum limit is $10,000 or $15,000, for bodily injury. SO, that doesn't go very far if the biker is "badly injured".

THEN, the biker has to rely on his uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. IF he bought it.

Full coverage only means, they have at least minimum liability, and they have coverage on the car itself for accident & theft. It does NOT mean "maximum limits" or anything else.

not really, the compensation will be set by the regulations, all insurances have libility ins included,

Each level of compensation is set by the level of injury and loss of income, therefore it will be decided by the lawyers or the court.

All auto and cycle insurance policies are custom designed for each person buying insurance. The state sets the minimum required for coverage and all states are not the same...

Some insurance companies will insure to the minimum but that is hardly enough to cover damages these days...

Full coverage is best, naturally, especially if traveling a lot or living in a highly congested area...

Only the policy itself can answer your question of how much coverage each vehicle may have and the amounts of coverage it provides in dollars...

Insurance policies purchased will offer coverage against un-insured drivers of another vehicle (some states require that) and also under-insured drivers too (optional)...

If someone is at fault in an accident and has insufficient coverage then your own insurance will cover all or part of your own losses if you have the proper coverage yourself. However, if that is not enough coverage then you will have to sue the person at fault and "may" also have to pay back what your insurance company paid out if you have a large payout from the law suit... If you have full coverage, the insurance company will sue the person at fault; not you...

If your policy has a "subrogation" clause...that means you must pay them back if you win the law suit... Court costs, lawyer and insurance company, in that order...you get what is left...if any...LOL
