I bought a harley from a guy over a year ago, registered it and got tags 2 years in a row. Now the FBI has done a sting and taken my bike claiming it's a stolen vehicle. I am a victim in this situation and was told so by the State Police and FBI. They said my ins. co. (State Farm) may cover this. I contacted them and they said under my policy that vehicles seized by the government aren't covered. I could understand this if I had done something illegal like selling drugs and they seized it but I'm an innocent victim. My insurance company is willing to further investigate, is there any clause you know of any keywords I need to use to help with my situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you get a title at the TIME of sale? They're required for the sale to be legal and for you to title the motorcycle in your name.

Read every word (including the tiny print) in your insurance policy. Also read all those little "changes in coverage" slips the send with your bill.

Unless you paid cash for it, your lending institution should have asked for a title and bill of sale at the time they financed it for you.
