Default I have a boat and need to know the make of it so I can insure it?

The boat is 18 ft long with quite a long bow, it is quite an old boat if anybody can help I have pictures which I can e-mail thanks

If it was made after 1973 it is supposed to have a manufacturers plate on the starboard transom with a VIN number that can be traced. There may be a plate located elsewhere with some info.































Are we talking about a sailboat? had chined? covered bow or stern? cuddy cabin? plumb bow?

this will take some investigation, but i think if you take it down to a local boat yard, they might have a clue as to what make and model it is

You don't need the make of the boat to insure it.































Just tell them it was a "private build", they'll move onto the next question.































If they don't, just call someone else.































what would they really do if you said "don't know"































me: had boat insurance for 10 years and never told them what make the boat is as they were privately built.

if there is old reg. numbers you can look them up and see what the last reg. make was, do you have the vin numbers?,, or send me a pic and i'll see what i can come up with
