The dental insurance, $18.46 for 2 people, is paid weekly out of husbands earnings. This insurance only pays less than half of the dentists fees and has a $1000. yearly limit.
This is leaving a deficit of almost $2500. for extractions and dentures that I am unable to come up with. Is there a possibility of purchasing a second policy from another company that will cover part of this?
I can't find employment with no teeth and I need to get out of this abusive marriage. Is there help for me anywhere in Southern California?

You could call the public health department near you and see if they have a dental clinic. Or a university near you and see if they have a dental clinic.

Dental insurance is worthless!
I am in somewhat the same predicament. You might have to go on the easy payment plan with a dentist.
I guess there isn't much to smile about. We need National health care with dental too.

Problem being that people can't afford dental so they get insurance, dentist raise their prices because there is insurance...that makes it even more unaffordable and many people go without the right care! IT STINKS

what i found out about purchasing medical insurance is that they will not cover existing conditions, and they have a waiting period of 3 months.

try seeing if the dentist office can swing your payments over so many months. if not put it on a visa, or get a loan. then when tax time comes, claim it.

Another option I can think of is to find out if there are any dentisal training colleges within travelling distance of you. These will often perform routine treatment like fillings and extractions for free as the work is done by students.
This will leave more money from your policy free to cover the cost of the plate.
