The best way to tell is if it's life-threatening. You see, you can live without your teeth.

However, if an infection gets into your gums and isn't taken care of immediately, it can traverse your entire system via the blood stream making it a life-threatening problem. In that case, your health insurance will take over. Your oral surgeon will know the answer and if s/he is ethical, they'll tell you.

Ask! There's no such thing as a dumb question.

medical insurance will cover it if the teeth arent out above the gums. becaus they have to cut them out and its considered surgery. once the teeth come out of the gums and are showing the dental insurance will have to cover it because its pulling teeth, not cutting them out.
