Default Getting a second opinion and using dental insurance?

I was recently told I need a root canal on a tooth that looks fine and does not hurt. How do I get a second opinion - will insurance cover another exam?

Call your insurance company and ask them. Odds are they won't cover a second opinion. Maybe you can ask your dentist to show you your x-ray and have him explain in detail why you need one. Just because a tooth may look fine to you, doesn't mean that it's healthy or won't hurt like heck later on.
