Default i'm trying to get dental insurance but im not sure about some of the

terminology..read on for more info? is 5000 deductible a good or a bad thing?? here's a link:

which plans should i get??..not looking to pay more than 150 a month.

$5,000 deductible is extremely high - that means you will have to pay for the first $5,000 in dental fees BEFORE the insurance will cover anything at all. I would say search for a better insurance plan.

A high deductible only suits people who have very high health care spending. For example, let's say you only go once a year to the dentist for a cleaning....it will take you a long time to satisfy that deductible. But let's say that all of your teeth fall out and you suddenly need $10,000 in dental work....well you will pay $5,000 of that, THEN the insurance will cover some of it.

But really, it sounds like a bad plan - look for a different one. You want to balance a do-able deductible with a do-able monthly premium.
