I am with Direct Line. They are not the cheapest, but I have never had any problems with claiming from them. And we have claimed a lot! A couple of years ago my dog, Bosley, had a ligament tear in his back leg. Our vets could not find this straight away so we had to go to a speacialist, and he had an MRI scan. All this plus operation took up to nearly £4000. They did not quibble and it is so worth having.
He is nearly 13 now, and I pay £23 per month. I think it started at about £8 per month when he was about 2 years old.
I have upgraded my insurance too, max was previously £4000 per condition up to one year. Now it's up to £6000 per condition over any length of time.
Read the small print carefully.
Dogs Today magazine have a really good insurance advisor and either this months issue or last month's has a good in depth article about dog insurance.
Hope this helps.
