Default I have 6 animals, what pet insurance do you recommend?

I have 2 dogs, and 4 cats. All are indoor pets (only). I would like to get insurance for vet check ups and vaccinations.... I don't know what practices are reliable, please help! None have medical conditions.
I didn't know about the illness/accidents only part...... to bad. I don't think that indoor pets really need insurance that much.. since it is so expensive.

Pet Care Insurance is good. Unfortunately, no insurance company covers the costs of regular vet checkups for vaccinations. They only cover illnesses or injuries.

Insurance companies make a lot of money off the premiums that are paid to them. You need home insurance and car insurance (usually required by law), life insurance.

Since you keep your cats and dogs inside they have a very low possibility of needing heavy veterinary care.

Vaccinations are not necessary for your indoor cats and of course you have to get rabies vacs for your dogs.

You can price around and I would just open a savings account and put what you would be paying in pet insurance premiums into the account monthly. Then you will earn a little interest too and have a nice fund for vet emergencies. Older pets need more veterinary care so you would be putting money aside for that. Insurance companies don't want to insure older pets.

I hope someone has a good suggestion because I wouldn't mind getting insurance for my two cats. It's just hard because you don't know how much you really need....and whether or not a place is decent.

I think that it is very wise and responsible of you to be thinking about buying pet insurance for your cats and dogs. vets are soooooooo outrageously expensive these days!!! I believe that I should be thinking about doing the same with my dog and 2 cats (my dog is strictly outdoors, but my two cats are strictly indoors)!!

Good Luck! =^-^=

The trouble is that indoor pets can still get cancer or swallow something they shouldn't, etc., even without the outdoor risks. We love our Pets Best policy and I believe they have a multiple-pet discount: http://www.petsbest.com/.

When I was researching companies, I also typed in the company name with the words "review" and "pet insurance." Very informative. Pet insurance is really catching on. Not having it (to me) would be like driving my car without insurance -- risky, at best. Good luck to you!

p.s. You're wise to consider insurance *before* something comes up. My mom (who works for an insurance agency) says that people call all the time hoping to insure homes that already have fires going in the kitchen (figuratively speaking). By then, it's too late to really reap the benefits of insurance.

p.p.s. Pets Best does have a routine care/wellness option to cover regular checkups and vaccinations. It's an add-on option. It even covers dental cleanings!
