Default The house i rent burned down and i have no rental insurance what do i do??

the fire was caused by a propane heater that heats the house. it was a problem with the heater. my landlord has had it serviced 4 times this year because it is a old unit. i lost everything and i am paying for a hotel out of my pocket. what can i do?? is there a lawsuit and if so who can i sue?? there were no injuries.

You absolutely need to speak to a lawyer...right now, without delay. A lawyer is the only one who can give you a legitimate, legal answer. There are some lawyers who may not charge you anything for answering your question and some only a nominal fee...for your peace of mind and to know your rights, you need to see a lawyer...NOW!!!

Without renters insurance, its a total lost, unless your state, county, or city has some program to assist fire victims like you. Call the nearest Red Cross, explain your situation, then ask if they know of any programs offered by any government agency to assist people like you in your situation. I know they've helped people displaced from building apartment units that had burned down.

You can move out of the hotel and rent another house.

You can stop paying rent for the house that burned down.

No, you cannot sue, you will have to replace everything. That is the reason for insurance.
