I have Mercury car insurance and I pay for ful coverage, I just totaled my 12 month old Camry and now my agent is telling me that I do not have access to a rental car, that the only way to get ono under my contract is if the vehicle was stolen. Is there anyone that can help because I think i'm getting ripped off and don't have a clue on what to do next. I really appreciate your time, thank you.

read your policy. if it says that your covered for a rental car if you wreck your own then your covered. if it doesn't say it then your not!!!

You are not being ripped off. There are a couple of companies that include car rental in their policy but most do not. I have been an agent for years and everytime I offer the coverage to someone they always turn it down. I quit offering and include it in my quote. Under an insurance contract if your vehicle is stolen, after so many hours they will provide you with a rental vehicle. It is to late now but it would be a good idea so go in and review your policy. Make sure that you go over all of your coverages and ask your agent about any additional coverages that may be available.
